In certain industries there is more ingenuity than money, such as p0rn, [email protected], etc. Therefore they use clever tactics when it comes to raising awareness with their ads. This article describes three such tactics such as reflecting the users’ location or device information obtained in the ads and shamelessly asking the visitors to do something if they like in general what you are doing.

I would also add, that if we state we know anything about the visitor, chances are higher that they notice our advertisements. I have recently came across a search engine ad where a question was posed like: ”Are you gay and also a client of this Bank?” This ad text certainly grabbed the attention of that cca. 5% who are really gay, plus those who are clients of that bank. This latter group could be rather curious about how come that the advertiser knows my bank plus why they think I am gay – so chances are high that they will click.
